    About Patagonia:

Famed for adventurous comfort and inspiring integrity, Patagonia is a pioneer in premium outdoor essentials made responsibly. You'll feel as good as you'll look wearing Patagonia's clothing and shoes.

Patagonia's passion for exploration and environmentalism is authentic, and it's also the eye-opening story behind their rugged-minimalist clothing, bags, shoes, and accessories. Yvon Chouinard founded this Californian company almost on a whim as a side business to his industry-leading mountain-climbing one. After making peak gear more preservation-friendly, Chouinard started the fad of wearing rugby jerseys for climbing, then successfully imported them for sale, along with waterproof jackets, backpacks, gloves, and hats. The Patagonia brand was born in 1973 as a result, with a namesake conjuring images of majestic, challenging landscapes like South America's southern Andes peaks.

Over the years, this innovative label transformed the outerwear industry by introducing new technologies, trends, and eco-leadership. Patagonia repurposed pile sweaters from commercial fishing staples into functional summit fashion after studying the benefits of moisture-absorbing synthetic fabrics. Patagonia was, in fact, the first company to educate outdoor enthusiasts about proper layering techniques, and provided alternatives to cotton clothing like shed-free, soft, synthetic fleeces and long underwear with polyester insulation. When Patagonia unveiled vibrant colors in the 80s, suddenly everyone started sporting their cozy jackets, vests, and waterproof windbreakers for skiing, hiking, camping, trail running, and everyday use. But the symbolic color for Patagonia became green. Every year since 1985, they've donated 1% of all sales to nature-saving organizations, and in 2002 Chouinard co-founded a nonprofit that helps other businesses do the same. In 1996, Patagonia replaced pesticide-sprayed cotton with 100% organic cotton in all their clothing.

Today, you'll enjoy even lighter, warmer layers with their upgraded Regulator insulation, while their latest Capilene fabric offers greater flexibility and moisture wicking than ever. The brand's also greener thanks to using more hemp and recycled polyester. So even though Patagonia doesn't make a lot of shoes, ShoeBuy is more than proud to provide you with their top-notch outfit pieces. Free shipping, comfort, and feel-good sustainability included!
