Q. What is shoe goring?
A. Shoe goring is an elasticized piece of material that joins two pieces of a shoe upper together.
Why does it matter?
Many tall boots are designed with elastic goring around the top or up the backside of the leg. This offers extra stretch for the leg fit. Also, if you're on the cusp of wide-calf boot sizing, goring can help ensure the boot isn't gapping too much.
