I tried on several different styles and brands when looking for a hiking shoe within a price range of $50 - $150. I walk a lot and have managed with my normal cross trainers but realize that I needed something more durable, waterproof and supportive given that I like to hike year round when there is snow, water/mud or unpredictable terrain such as tree roots and/or rocks.
Many styles were too clumpy and unattractive for me so I thought I would give these a try because they weren't an expensive commitment.
So far, I am happy - supportive, not too clumpy and they are waterproof.
