The shoe looked to be sturdy and well-made. Definitely casual, not dressy. The brown leather had a really nice finish, and I liked the copper colored metal accent. The width was good for my extra wide feet and the shoe felt like it would have been comfortable, with enough depth for orthotics. Unfortunately, I had to return it because I have a somewhat high instep and the strap just wasn't long enough. It left a good half inch of velcro exposed, which would have ruined my hosiery and pants legs. I really hate velcro on shoes and wish more manufacturers would go back to metal buckles. It seems such a shame to put a cheap velcro closure on an otherwise quality shoe.
