I was excited to try this shoe because it is one of the rare sandals that has a removable insole. I was considering having custom orthotics made to go in them.
There were two problems: first, since the side of the shoe where my arch is is open, my foot just spilled out over the edge of the existing arch support (which is quite nice for a sandal). (This probably only matters for folks like me who have flat feet, and is typical of many sandals...but I wanted to share in case others are considering the shoe for similar reasons.) Second, the shoe seemed long overall, and wide in the heel, for my narrow-heeled foot. So back it goes.
That said, it is a lovely shoe and it already has some built-in arch support. The sole is not as flexible as I'd like, but otherwise it seems like a great compromise between comfort and style. The heel is not too high, and the leather seems soft enough to break in nicely. The gold is a light, subtle color, not too flashy to wear with casual clothes.
