The back lip requires using your finger to shoe horn the slipper on. Otherwise, very comfortable. My daughter's mother wears them every day happily.

I was immediately drawn to the Owl embroidery since I am a big fan of both. I also own many pairs of Acorn slippers, so I expected to love these. However, as noted, they have a very deep heel cup and are very tight across the instep. I don't want to use a shoe horn or have to twist-and-repeat to get into slippers, so despite their very cute appearance, I returned these. Boiled wool does stretch with wear, so these might have fit better after a break-in period, but I wasn't willing to take the chance. I like slippers that support me well and that I can slide into with ease -- this pair isn't that.
