if you are looking for 'THE' ultimate classic cowboy western boot, no frills just a purebred look, made in the U.S.A., and purebred construction...this is it. they look incredible with jeans too!
i will note they are a bit narrow in the front portion of the boot compared to most other western boots. i would not get an extra wide as this would made the back/heel too wide. you can get a half-size longer, or do as i've done, break them in with a lot of walking, and stretch them a bit using either a boot stretcher or very tight wooden shoe tree...maybe even putting a small piece of cloth in the tip of the boot before putting in a shoe tree.
that said, and having a few days of slightly uncomfortable breakin wearing, these are perhaps the best western boots i own. once broken in, they are one of the most comfortable pairs i own. they certainly are the best looking if you want a pure, classic western look without the skin of exotic species, or weird shoe shapes like winkle picker toes.
these are every bit worth the full retail, but getting them with some sort of discount makes it a no brainer. if you normally purchase your cowboy boots a bit oversize, these will definitely fit. if you normally get your boots to fit you exactly, then expect a bit of a breakin to stretch the front one-third out a bit.
bottom line, i love them as much or more than any other boot i own or ever purchased.
