I thought I had the right pair of shoes... stylistically a nice balance between combat boot and dress shoe, short enough to not get sweaty in the summer. Most importantly I read memory foam soles and thought they would be more comfortable than most.
What nobody tells you about these shoes is that the tongue is crimped and stitched, like the inside seam of a T-shirt or leather jacket, in two places where it digs painfully into the top of your foot. It is hard leather and I'm afraid to wear them long enough to see if it softens somewhat with more usage. I now have two red burning indents in each foot that appear after only a few minutes of wear and become trenches after a day of walking in these. Driving is like needles.
I don't recommend these to anyone and I'm dreading the return process. These are the woes of buying shoes online without a way to try them on!
