I'm a police officer and I work a foot beat on a 12 hour shift. I was wearing military boots but they kept hurting my feet. As a result of surgery 10 years ago I have slightly narrow heels and most boots slip causing pain.
After trying almost every boot in the store I settled on the Magnum Stealth Force 8.0. The boot is comfortable and cradles my foot. When laced it locks my heels in place solidly and I experienced no slipping whatsoever. The boot also has a lot of cushioning. So much so that they really did feel like a high end basketball shoe. While walking these boots are actually better than my New Balance walking shoes. The size seemed right on the mark and they didn't have a zipper! Whats the obsession with zippers anyway? People that are too lazy to tie they shoes don't need to wear them.
Things I didn't like, The lace material is weird and doesn't want to stay tied. The lacing system has eyelets but in the center there is one spot where it goes through some nylon loops. I think this might be a weak spot. Not a big problem because if they rub through you can just skip them. I also found a loose stich on the back of the left boot. I ended up cutting it flush and putting a drop of finger nail glue on it to lock it down. Not a huge deal but then again this is the kind of stuff that gets on your nerves. I also found several six inch long threads on the inside of the boot that had to be trimmed. I also think that Magnum may want to think about using a slightly smaller stich on the outsole. As it is its pretty easy to damage.
Overall I seriously love these boots. They fit well and are supportive and get me through a shift without a lot of drama and no pain. This of course means they will stop making them any time now. So, I'll be buying a couple of more pairs just in case.
