This is a vey-well made shoe, much higher quality than I can usually find locally in a buck style. The sole is extra thick, which gives better shock absorption and should make it longer-lasting. The fit is very good, and I don't have to pull the laces too tight to account for my narrow width. It is much harder for me to find narrow widths in casual shoes than in dress, so I was delighted to find this pair.
My only "complaint" is that I wish I had been more careful about the break-in period. These shoes are very well-made - and that can work against you when they are brand new. There is cloth taping, about 3/8 of an inch wide, sewn along the top inside of the shoe. This helps the lining stay in place and protects it from abrasion. In the long run, this will make the shoe last longer and protect you from blisters caused by a loose or worn lining. In the short run, however, it can actually cause blisters as your feet get used to that ridge of material. I wish I had chosen to break these in by wearing them for a few hours each on separate days before wearing them all day and walking heavily in them. I paid for that with blisters just behind each ankle where the reinforcing strip is sewn. So I would definitely recommend a break in period before your first all-day wear!
