The soles tend to crack before the shoe wears out. I think it is a problem with proper vulcanizing of the rubber sole.

My previous pair worn daily lasted just about 3 years. As I was ordering 2 new pairs this time, I noticed the sole n my old pair had come apart from the uppers.. They cleaned up well and took polish when scuffed. The best part is the multiple, removable insole allow me to adjust the fit. I am a daily walker and these have worn well.

These shoes are very comfortable. But they squeak--so loudly that I'm sure you can hear me coming a block away.

I have poor/no arches and they work great with my orthotics and the included flat innersole layers work well too. This is my 3rd pair however as the innerlayers of the shoe keep on separaating and squeek badly.

If you need the extra room for your foot and maybe an orthotic, this may be a good choice. It almost looks like a regular shoe - just taller. However, I couldn't tolerate the squeeking and it still looked like a corrective shoe.
