I really research boot purchases because I wear them frequently working outdoors. I have worn other brands that have recently disappointed me. I intentionally avoided all of the boots that have rubber covered toes due to poor durability (the rubber broke down, cracked, tore and leaked on my last pair). I went with this model because the name is reputable and they were waterproof leather. I should also note that I don't need steel toes for my job and avoid them as well due to the added weight.
So i put these boots on and was immediately impressed. They are light and comfortable. The tongue is thin and easily tucks in when lacing them all the way to the top. The real test for me is durability.....unfortunately I cannot rate that aspect for another year or more. I feel confident that I can keep leather waterproof which was not the case with my last rubber-coated boots. Once the rubber failed, the water seeped right in.
Theses boots were a bit more expensive than other models I considered and I'm hoping the premium was well-spent. But no regrets thus far and the comfort is great.
