Overall, I really wanted to like these boots. The foot bed fit comfortably, and they looked nice and simple. However, even in a "wide calf" style, I was unable to zip these much past my ankle. I've owned other wide calf boots and had no issues, and based on the reported shaft width, I expected no trouble with these, but they're shaped in a way which makes them very narrow in the ankle / lower calf area, which caused issues for me. If you have wide calves but narrow ankles, you might be in luck with these boots, but I wouldn't recommend them if you have fuller ankles, too.
