These boots are not for those with large calves. I ordered a size up (10), which I normally do in boots, and they still did not fit my calves. I think that the fit was true to size, but since I did order up to accommodate my calves, they were slouchy in the ankles. I like the style, but I did return them. Be wary if you have large calves.

Awesome boots. I have them in black (and I bought an extra pair in black so .. I have a replacement pair the year these wear out) I wear them so often, I last all day in them. I can walk a mile no problem, and trust me...i have issues wearing anything called heel since I injured my back. this is a must buy pair. U may not like the brown because they are a bit irregular in the coloring. but the black .... A+

I love these boots. I'm wearing them now. They have a cognac color to them. They are comfortable, particularly in the area of my calves. No zipper, you pull them on with the hooks on the side. They come up just a short distance from my knees. They didn't take time for me to break them in. They mold my feet well. I'm 9.5. I recommend these boots. I think these boots will last for forever!
