Wow, I envy the folks who got their hands on the last of the original styles. The new "remastered" style lacks a lot of style. The two metal eyelets on the inner side of the shoe are now lowered into the rubber part of the soul instead of directly on the side of the shoe. The inside of the shoe is an off white color instead of the traditional blue. There is no embroidered "Jack Purcell" name on the tongue. That was one of the best things about the old shoe. The "smile" on the front of the shoe doesn't run as wide. The shoe itself is not as sleek as the old ones. Just a tad bit more bulky. I am not sure if Converse was trying to give less for the same amount of money, but this is extremely disappointing. I always pictured Jack Purcells being like Chuck Taylors in the sense they would never change. I guess I was wrong. Now granted, if you've never owned a pair before, you may like the new ones because you'll have no idea what you're missing.

They are much more comfortable than original converse. Pay $10 more than original converse. It's worth it!!!

The shoe fits as I expected. However, it is not the same as the product pictured in the image. The detailing on the tongue is absent. Otherwise, a great shoe, and it is decently comfortable without socks.

I've always loved the timeless, old school cool style of Jack Purcell sneakers, so I was stoked to order these for my little guy. I went on the advice of other reviewers and bought him a size down, but they're actually a wee bit too small. Darn it! Since flip flop weather is fast approaching in Texas, I'll wait to re-order until the fall. We will be reordering though!!!
