I live in the Northeast and wanted some warm boots. I wore these boots to a Patriots game in January and my feet stayed warm without using feet warmer inserts. Just 1 pair of wool socks and these great boots. Very comfortable too. I usually wear an 8.5. These boots come in EU sizes. The size 40 fit great with enough room for thick wool socks. The size 39 was to tights.
