These boots have everything I was looking for: A pull-on (no zipper) lace up combat-style short boot without a thick, clumpy sole; real actual leather; looks good with everything. The only reason I gave four stars for comfort was that I haven't worn them yet other than to try them on, because they are my Mother's Day present. If you are looking for winter boots (and I wasn't) these don't have that kind of warm lining. I can't wait to start wearing them!

I adore these shoes. As some have noted, it doesn't have the softest footbed - but the sole is well-made enough that I can walk in them fine - even in tights - all day without problem. The best thing is that the front is angled down toward the foot, so they don't look so "boot"ish with a skirt - very elegant and flattering - if a bit 19th century (which I love). The leather is very interestingly distressed, with panels of varied pattern and crackle. Have gotten many compliments. Definitely a cute vintage feel and the brown is rich and chocolately.
