"This is a great shoe. The band around the ankle does not rub or hurt in any way. And after wearing them all day at work, my heel did not hurt at all. The only place that takes some breaking in is the the strap across my toes. It is soft, but doesn't have a lot of "give" so it just needs to break in good."
