"After owning a variety of the real sheepskin boots, I can honestly comment that because of the sole and the reinforced heel & toe areas, the "Ultimate" and the
Sunburst" version of the Uggs truly stand up to seriously cold & wet snowy weather when properly cared for. The thicker & stronger outsole really makes a difference for extended periods of walking in the bitter cold! These have better stability and traction and are more durable than the other flat soled styles!I I do a lot of walking tours over a variety of surfaces & terrains around central and northern Europe where the weather can truly ruin the day. in conditions with Ice, snow,rain & temps in the teens and -0, both styles of these boots kept me warm and comfy. About the fit: I have an average foot arch & width (but sometimes take a W in boots) as well as a shoe size 10.5-11. The 10 fit perfect and once the foot area was a bit stretched from about 3 "break-ins" of 2-4 hours each, I added a comfort insole for heels/arches UNDER the footbed liner and this made all day walk touring very comfortable with mid-weight moisture wicking socks. The Sunburst style is taller (for even more leg warmth) and has an 18" circumference for those who need larger calf space. The quality of Uggs is definitely superior to and worth the money over "copycat brands" which for me-have fallen apart. You may pay a little more upfront, but they will last for years with proper care. I have the light color and even with being soaked multiple times and salt , they look great! I do use the Ugg Care Kit and I have used the products on other suede boots with great success! Always let them dry thoroughly and never on direct heat! They will darken a little with use but if that's a problem, choose something else. BTW, PLEASE GIVE US THE ULTIMATE & SUNBURST IN MORE COLORS !!!"

Pros: Stylish, Easy to Put On, Comfortable, Easy to Clean, Good traction, Durable, even better with the waterproofing care kit

Cons: Shaft too Large, need more colors...especially black!

Sizing

I noticed there are size varientals between Ugg boot styles. I wear a size 11, should I stick with that or should I size up or down?

I think its the sole. On the ultimate its rubber and a little thicker than the ultra, but I'm not positive about that.

The Ultimate is more of a winter/snow boot than the Classic: sturdier construction, an extra band of suede around the toes and heel, a heavier, thicker sole with better traction, and lined with thicker fleece to keep feet warm even at -20 degrees F! The removable fleece insole does have a built-in arch support, but it's not huge (which is a good thing for me, with my almost-flat feet). If you need a higher arch than the insole provides, you could always buy a shoe insert and put it in the boot under the fleece insole.

I wear a size 7 in shoes and wear size 6 in both UGG Ultra and Ultimate. They'll feel quite snug at first (the Ultimate has more fleece than the Classic), but soon the fleece will mold itself to your foot and your feet will love you! However, if you can feel the end of the boot with your big toe or your second toe, I'd recommend you return them for the next size up.
