"So I've been breaking these boots in for about a week. The Dr. Scholl's insoles mold to your feet, as advertised, and are very comfortable, but the collar grinds against my ankles for some reason. I've noticed no lingering "new shoe" odor, as mentioned in an earlier review. The pull tab is small and discreet, not a large dangling loop. The laces are the cheap factory-issued type that crack and feel with time, and are of a length that leave a lot of excess lace after tying then."

Pros: Comfortable, Cushioning

Cons: Chafes, poor quality laces

"I ordered these boots although I had read they smell like chemicals and plastic. When they arrived, I was very aware of the smell, but after trying them on I loved them and they were comfortable. I left them under my desk at work to air out, The next day, the entire office area smelled like a tire factory. I took them home and left them in my mud-room for 1 week. They smelled so strong that my partner and I could smell them throughout the house. I had no choice but to return them. I did not want to because they are nice looking boots with the perfect balance of a stylish look with a casual sole. I would say as tempting as they are to buy. . . DON'T."

Cons: smell like tires

"i absolutely love the style of this shoe. I have had them since September 2011 (it's now February 2012). I do not wear them ever day... or even every week. However, as stated by a previous reviewer, these boots STINK of some sort of petroleum product.... gasoline or oil. I don't know if it's the leather or the soles. But if I wear these in my car, I have to open a window to let the stink out. It really is a shame, because I really like the way they look. I'm wondering if I go stomp around in some mud or something... it that will solve the problem. It really is a shame because they really are nice looking boots. But the smell really is to much. I would not recommend buy them purely based on the fact that the smell doesn't seem to be going away. If it was gone after a month, I'd feel differently. But it just isn't getting any better."
