"Nice shoe but the fit was a little too small. Had to return it for the next size up because it doesn't come in 1/2 sizes. Its nice to find a classic shoes from back in the day. Had a pair when I was a kid in the 80's. The only difference is that the buckle doesn't open for a strap adjustment like the kind back in the day."

"Scholl's originals are just right for me, however, I have been disappointed in the reduction in their quality, i.e., the center post holding the sides together is of poor quality and can break. If it breaks, one cannot wear the shoes. Also, the leather is much thinner (therefore wears out) than originally. The new cost savings reductions made by the manufacturer do not produce better shoes."

"The only "con" with my new Dr Scholl's sandals is that they are not the same quality as the Dr Scholl's I bought 30 years ago for a fraction of the price....but then what is??? The leather is thinner, the soles wear a little faster, and I still prefer the old slide buckle to the new one that takes some figuring out. BUT they are STILL the most comfortable summer sandal and all year round slipper there is. This is my second pair and I see another pair in the future...the only problem is deciding what color is next."

Traction Sole Replacement

I have been wearing Dr. Scholls for over 40 years. I like others were glad to find a source, since the drug stores and retail stores stopped selling. My problem is that the rubber traction heal wears out before the rest of the shoe and then the bear wood heal is slippery and noisy when walking. Are there replacement materials to cover the bottom when it wears off?

I have the same problem and I pay $30 at the shoe store to replace the soles. However, when shoes.com as sales it is cheaper to buy a new pair.

If you squeeze the edges of the strap with one hand and slide the buckle with the other hand, it should allow you to adjust. Make sure that you are sliding away from the post.
