Several years ago, a traveling salesman named Chuck Taylor journeyed across the country distributing canvas high top basketball shoes and conducting clinics for his customers. Today his name graces the classic basketball sneakers known as "Chucks". These cool variations on the classic have a soft leather upper with the same great styling and fit. If you have never owned a pairs of Chucks, they run big so order a half size smaller. For women's sizes, subtract two whole sizes for a perfect fit.

"Great sneakers! Very comfortable and hold up well. Leather is solid quality, and the rubber cap toe keeps them in good shape even with a lot of bike riding with clip-style pedals. Laces stay tied -- also an important but overlooked thing about sneakers!"

"This is a great looking old school shoe. I purchased this for work to try to pass off as "athletically inspired" and it does the trick being that the upper is made of leather. It's a nice all black look with great traction. The only downsides dependent on what you were looking for is the sole is very hard. I'm trying for the minimalist "barefoot" walking style flat shoe so I can alleviate my chronic back pain and it has helped. Because of this basic style shoe, there is zero arch support which is what I was looking for. The sole is thick though so not as flexible as I like it to be. Maybe breaking them in for a few miles of walking will take care of that. It definitely runs on the large side. I wear 11 1/2 in most shoes but purchased 11 and there's still some toe room. I would have considered considered trying a 1/2 size less but it's somewhat narrow. I also own the John Varvatos All Star in 11 1/2 and putting them up against each other show the length is exact."

Pros: Good traction, Durable, atheletically inspired look

Cons: No Arch Support, very stiff sole

"These were good shoes in everything except that the soles wore out before anything else. I bought the leather ones because I was tired of the canvas wearing out, and these had the opposite problem. If they had a durable sole, I probably wouldn't buy any other shoes. FYI: I always wear converse with an insole from the drug store because they have no support and that works great."
